Nottingham Trent University Offers 50% Scholarships for Indian Students

Nottingham Trent University (NTU), one of the UK’s leading higher education institutions, has announced merit-based scholarships for Indian students enrolling in postgraduate programmes commencing in January 2026. The scholarships will cover up to 50% of tuition fees for eligible candidates, providing a valuable opportunity for aspiring students to study in the UK.
According to an official release, NTU awarded over 1,300 scholarships last year to students from more than 80 countries, reaffirming its commitment to global education and inclusivity.
Scholarships and Awards
The university offers multiple scholarships under this initiative:
India Prestigious University Award: Up to £4,000
NTU International Merit Scholarship: £3,000
NTU International Scholarship: £2,000
Applicants must hold an offer of admission for the January 2026 intake to be eligible. The application deadline for these scholarships is November 12, 2025 (1600 GMT).
Eligibility for the India Prestigious University Award
Students who have completed their undergraduate studies from the following institutions are eligible:Delhi University, Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Madras (Chennai) University, Kolkata (Calcutta) University, or Bangalore University.
Academic Criteria:
First Class: 70% or above / 7.0 CGPA (10-point scale) / 6.0 CGPA (7-point scale) – £4,000 award
Second Class (2:1): 55% or above / 5.5 CGPA (10-point scale) / 4.5 CGPA (7-point scale) – £3,000 award
To apply, candidates must complete the university application form and check the box to be considered for the India Prestigious University Award. For broader scholarship consideration, applicants can submit a full scholarship application for awards covering up to 50% of tuition fees.
Focus on Employability
Ranked first in the UK for employability (Uni Compare, 2025), NTU’s academic model emphasizes career readiness through real-world experience. Each undergraduate program includes a minimum of 240 hours of work-like experience, ensuring students gain practical exposure along with academic knowledge.
NTU also offers an Employability Promise, guaranteeing paid placements for graduates who are not employed or enrolled in further studies within one year of graduation.
In its official statement, NTU noted that these scholarships are part of its mission to help students gain both academic excellence and career-ready skills, combining classroom learning with internships and project-based training.
