Nearly 1,000 government school teachers in Delhi selected as NEP nodal teachers will participate in a three-day training programme starting December 3, 2025. These nodal teachers serve as a crucial link between the Delhi State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and individual schools, facilitating the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the grassroots level.
Roles and Responsibilities of NEP Nodal Teachers
According to the draft training module, NEP nodal teachers will:
Act as facilitators of NEP initiatives at the school level
Serve as a bridge between policy vision and classroom practice
Mentor fellow teachers to guide classroom transformation and innovation
The NEP implementation framework emphasizes five key pillars:
NEP Student
NEP Teacher
NEP Parent
NEP Classroom
NEP School
Focus on Creative Teaching and Stakeholder Engagement
SCERT officials highlighted that the training will encourage teachers to adopt creative teaching methods, promoting critical thinking, curiosity, and active learning among students. Teachers themselves are expected to develop innovative strategies to bring lessons alive in classrooms.
Additionally, the programme will introduce nodal teachers to the concept of NEP parents, who will play an active role in fostering a home environment that supports curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. Nodal teachers will guide the development of these stakeholders to ensure effective NEP implementation across schools.
This initiative is part of Delhi’s broader effort to operationalize the National Education Policy 2020, ensuring alignment between policy objectives and classroom practices.
