With just 10 days left for the International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged people to reiterate their commitment to making yoga an integral part of their lives and also encourage others to do the same.
PM Modi also shared AI-generated videos of him performing various asanas and describing their benefits on his X handle. He said that the International Day of Yoga, which will be celebrated on June 21, marked a timeless practice that celebrated oneness and harmony.
"In ten days from now, the world will mark the 10th International Day of Yoga, celebrating a timeless practice that celebrates oneness and harmony. Yoga has transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, uniting millions across the globe in the pursuit of holistic well-being," he tweeted.
The Prime Minister said that yoga transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, uniting millions around the globe in the pursuit of holistic well-being.
"As we approach this year’s Yoga Day, it is essential to reiterate our commitment to making yoga an integral part of our lives and also encouraging others to make it a part of theirs. Yoga offers a sanctuary of calm, enabling us to navigate life's challenges with calm and fortitude," he said.
Last year, PM Modi led a yoga session at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York in a historic celebration to commemorate the 9th International Day of Yoga. The event, which created a Guinness World Record, saw the participation of top UN officials, envoys and prominent individuals from over 180 countries.
Recognising its universal appeal, in December 2014, the UN proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by a resolution. The day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.
