The notification was issued on August 14, 2026, and the online application process began on August 17. Eligible candidates can submit their Bihar STET 2026 applications until August 31, 2026.

Bihar STET is an eligibility examination and not a direct teacher recruitment examination. Therefore, the notification does not announce a fixed number of teacher vacancies. Candidates should carefully verify the subject-wise qualification requirements, age criteria, category provisions and document requirements before applying.

Bihar STET 2026 Application Dates

The Bihar STET 2026 application window will remain open from August 17 to August 31, 2026.

Candidates are required to complete the registration process, verify their mobile number through OTP, enter their personal and academic details, upload the required documents and pay the examination fee online.

Applicants should complete the application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical or payment-related issues.

Bihar STET 2026 Age Limit

Candidates applying for Bihar STET 2026 should be between 21 and 42 years of age, with the age calculated as on August 1, 2026.

Applicable age relaxation will be provided to eligible candidates according to the prescribed government and examination rules.

Candidates should check the official notification for category-specific provisions before submitting their applications.

Bihar STET 2026 Application Fee

The examination fee varies according to the candidate's category and the number of papers selected.

For UR, EWS, BC and EBC candidates, the fee is Rs 960 for one paper and Rs 1,440 for both papers.

For SC, ST and PWD candidates, the fee is Rs 760 for one paper and Rs 1,140 for both papers.

Candidates from outside Bihar will not be entitled to Bihar's reservation benefits and will be treated under the applicable General category provisions for fee purposes.

Bihar STET 2026 Eligibility

Eligibility requirements differ depending on the paper and subject selected.

For Paper-I, candidates generally require a graduation degree along with B.Ed. or an equivalent prescribed qualification, subject to the conditions applicable to the particular subject.

For Paper-II, candidates generally require a postgraduate qualification along with B.Ed. or an equivalent qualification, depending on the subject.

Additional or subject-specific requirements may apply for disciplines such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science, languages, Computer Science, Physical Education, Music and Fine Arts.

Candidates should therefore refer to the subject-wise eligibility criteria in the official notification rather than assuming that a general qualification applies to every subject.

Bihar STET 2026 Exam Pattern

The Bihar STET 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Each paper will contain 150 objective-type questions carrying 150 marks. Of these, 100 marks will be based on the specified subject matter, while 50 marks will cover Teaching Arts and Other Competencies.

Candidates will get 150 minutes to complete each paper.

There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Bihar STET 2026 Qualifying Marks

The minimum qualifying percentage varies according to the candidate's category.

General category candidates need to secure at least 50 per cent marks.

The qualifying requirement is 45.5 per cent for BC candidates, 42.5 per cent for EBC candidates, and 40 per cent for SC, ST, PWD and female candidates, as prescribed in the notification.

Meeting the qualifying criteria establishes eligibility under STET and should not be confused with appointment to a teaching post.

Bihar STET 2026 Normalisation Rules

If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts or on different dates, BSEB may apply a normalisation process to account for variations between examination sessions.

Where normalisation is applicable, the normalised score rather than the raw score will be considered for determining qualification, according to the examination rules.

Candidates should therefore carefully read any instructions issued by BSEB regarding the calculation and publication of scores.

Documents Required for Bihar STET Application

Candidates should keep the required documents ready before completing the online form. Depending on the candidate and category, these may include a recent photograph, signature, educational qualification certificates, caste certificate, domicile certificate and other applicable documents.

Applicants should upload documents in the prescribed format and verify all information carefully before final submission.

After submitting the application, candidates should download and retain a copy of the completed form and payment confirmation for future reference.

Corrections, if permitted, will be available only during the prescribed correction period. Candidates should therefore avoid waiting until the final day to submit the application.

Where to Check Bihar STET 2026 Notification and Apply

Candidates should use the official Bihar STET portal to access the notification, application form and latest examination instructions.

Candidates are advised to rely on the official notification for the latest eligibility, fee, document and application requirements before completing the form.
